Vera

Vera is a striking smooth-coated Chihuahua in the eye-catching domino pattern — an ancient coat pattern in the breed, often mistaken for wolf sable but genetically distinct. Bred by us at Alfheim-Andromeda, she is one of the most balanced and correct girls in our program — when measured against the breed standard, she sits remarkably close to ideal.

She is a natural learner with a sense of humor — a thinker, a puzzle solver, the kind of dog who works problems out on her own and clearly enjoys it. Her intelligence shows in everything she does, from how quickly she takes to new commands to how she watches a room and figures out what is going on.

Vera is Champion pointed and well on her way to her title, professionally handled by Marissa Schmidt. She represents what the Alfheim-Andromeda program is built on — structure, intelligence, and a temperament that holds steady whether she's in the ring or at home.

Vera takes her registered name from Agatha Christie's 1939 masterpiece — the most ingeniously plotted mystery ever written, and the best-selling crime novel of all time. Ten strangers, a remote island, a sinister nursery rhyme that counts them down one by one.

The call name "Vera" belongs to Vera Claythorne, the sharp, watchful young woman at the center of the story — the one you cannot quite read until the very last page. Intelligent, composed, and impossible to dismiss.

A fitting name for a girl who watches the room with quiet attention, picks up everything around her, and reveals her depth gradually — never all at once.

About Vera's full health panel. Vera is cleared across her OFA Patellas, Basic Cardiac, and CERF (Eyes), alongside her complete Embark DNA disease panel. This is the same testing battery every dog in our program completes before breeding, and it is the standard we expect from any future pairing.
