Meet Danny
Danny is the newest member of our program — a long coat domino puppy who joined us in early 2026. He is currently in show training with our handlers, prepping for his future ring career, and showing every sign of carrying himself like a real one when he gets there.
Danny is, despite his registered name, the opposite of dangerous. He is soft as silk, and his most threatening behavior so far has involved a sock. The name is the joke. The dog is a sweetheart.
What Danny brings to our program is a distinctive coat genotype, a clean panel across all four major Chihuahua disease tests, and an exceptionally low coefficient of inbreeding (COI 0.09%). He is a young dog with a very specific and meaningful future in front of him.
Danger Is My Middle Name
Anyone who lived through the late nineties remembers Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery — Mike Myers's deeply silly, deeply British super-spy with shag-carpet tastes and a list of catchphrases that defined the era. "Danger is my middle name" is one of the most quoted, delivered with maximum confidence by a man who is, in fact, almost never in any real danger.
That is exactly why we picked it. Our Danny is a long-coat puppy whose middle name is, by registration, "Danger" — and who is, by any objective measure, the least threatening creature on earth. We hope he's dangerous in the ring and keeps his silly outside it. Both versions of him are welcome.
About Danny's domino coat. Domino is a coat pattern produced by the "ea" allele at the E Locus, more commonly seen in primitive breeds like the Saluki and Afghan Hound, and showing up periodically in the Chihuahua. It expresses as a softening of the dark facial mask and a graceful blending of light and dark across the body. Domino is not super common in our breed, and Danny carries it cleanly — making him a thoughtful contribution to a program already focused on coat diversity and genetic depth.
What Danny's COI of 0.09% actually means. The Coefficient of Inbreeding is a measure of how genetically related a dog's two parents are — the lower the number, the more genetic diversity the dog carries, and the lower the risk of inheriting two copies of any harmful recessive gene. Most pedigreed dogs sit between 5% and 15% COI. Danny's 0.09% places him in the top tier of genetic diversity within the breed, the kind of number you only achieve through deliberate, multi-generational outcrossing. Combined with his clean panel across all four major Chihuahua disease tests and his distinctive domino coat, Danny offers genetic depth that meaningfully strengthens our program.
Danny's Sire
Austin is an AKC Champion from South Korea and the sire of our domino long coat puppy, Danny. International outcrosses like this are how we keep genetic diversity in our breeding program meaningful, and Austin's structure, presence, and movement in the ring carry forward beautifully into his offspring. We are grateful to his breeders for allowing us to bring his line into our program.
